GIVE

As Christians, giving is our response to God’s amazing grace and the indescribable gift of his son to us. Generous giving blesses others and supplies the needs of God’s people, it is also an act of obedience and trust – in doing it we are saying that it is God, not ourselves or anyone else, who ultimately provides for our needs. Giving should never be forced or grudging, but rather voluntary and cheerful. ‘Let each one give as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves a giver whose heart is in his giving.’ (2 Corinthians 9:7).

Giving financially is just one way of expressing generosity. If you’re struggling financially or in debt, we encourage you to express generosity in a non-financial way by serving on a team, praying for the Church, or being generous with your time towards others.

Truth
The Holy Spirit has planted the word of God within the people of God. To be generous with the truth means to speak and to demonstrate his truth within a broken world.

Time
We live as eternal citizens of heaven here on earth. The time we have is a precious commodity which is easily wasted. In our generation, how will you invest your time for God's kingdom purposes?

Talents
Each of has been resourced by God to serve him and one another. Our talents are remarkable and our opportunities are before our eyes. How will you use your gifts and abilities to give glory to God?

Treasure
Our financial generosity is the first call on our income. Our giving is a reflection of our faith in the one who provides for all our needs. We choose to give cheerfully because we trust in a generous God.ption text goes here

Ultimately, generosity is found in verbaising the gospel of Jesus with those whom God has put around us.

Prioritise and commit to spending time together as church family as a key form of your giving.

Serving
Serving on a team is a great way to be generous with you God given talents. Contact the church office to find out how you can get involved.

Financially
Our giving should be a priority, planned and proportionate. A tithe is 10 per cent of our income and might form a helpful starting point when deciding how much to give. We encourage members of St Francis Church to set up a regular standing order and Gift Aid if you are an eligible UK tax payer.

We take stewarding the money people choose to give seriously, and each year a full breakdown is available as part of our annual meeting. Here is a rough breakdown:

• 50% - Common Mission Fund.

  • This does to the Diocese of Winchester and covers costs of clergy as well as central diocesan recourses. More information is available on the Diocese Website.

• 20% - Staff Costs

• 20% - Operational Costs

• 10% - Missional Giving
