FILLED | FORMED | SENT

Our visionis to be the heart of Valley Park

filled and alive in God’s presence, formed as disciples, and sent with His love.

As the Father has sent me, I am sending you... Receive the Holy Spirit.

John 20:21-22

We long to be a church where people truly encounter Jesus, where everyone’s faith grows deeper, where Sundays lead to transformation throughout the week, where prayer is a daily rhythm, where all, especially children and young people, flourish and lead, where new people come to know Christ and find a spiritual home. For us that means being filled, formed and sent.

Vision

We long to be a church which is:

  • We want to grow as people of worship and prayer. Creating space to encounter God, respond to Him, and be renewed by His Spirit.

We can do nothing in our own strength, only by His power and spirit. As we gather corporately in whatever form of worship, our heart is to be filled by Him.

“Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom… being transformed into His image.” - 2 Corinthians 3:17-18

  • We commit to helping one another grow in depth. Moving from attending to belonging, from believing to becoming, from consumers to disciples.

Whether through small groups, serving, daily prayer, or developing a personal rule of life, we want everyone to have a clear next step.

“Offer your bodies… be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” - Romans 12:1-2

  • We believe church doesn’t stop on Sunday.

We are called to love and serve our community. Supporting families, walking with people through life’s challenges, caring for the lonely, sharing the gospel, and praying for the flourishing of our town.

“Act justly, love mercy, walk humbly with your God.” - Micah 6:8

THE NEXT TEN YEAR

We believe God is calling St Francis Church to grow, not just in number, but in depth and impact. We long to see a thriving, multi-generational church family at least double our current size, with vibrant Sundays, multiple services, and a new generation of children and young people leading the way in faith. We see disciples who don’t just attend church but live it – carrying the presence of Jesus into workplaces, schools, homes and streets. We pray for many to come to know Jesus for the first time, for leaders to be raised up from within our church, and for Valley Park to experience the tangible love of Christ through us.

Values

As the heart of Valley Park, we aspire to be:

  • Christ is at the heart of everything we do. We gather to encounter Him, we listen to His Word, and we depend on His Spirit to guide and shape us.

We believe the church is most alive when Jesus is truly at the centre, not just in what we say, but in how we worship, how we lead, and how we love one another. We want our lives, not just our services, to reflect Him.

“Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.” – Hebrews 12:2

  • Following Jesus is a lifelong journey, and we embrace it with open hearts. Wherever we are starting from, we believe there is always more God wants to grow in us.

We long to grow deeper in prayer, richer in understanding, and more Christlike in character. We encourage one another, learn together, and practise faith in everyday life, trusting that God is continually at work within us.

“As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.” – Psalm 42:1

  • Church is not just something we attend, it is a place we belong.

We seek to be a community where people are welcomed warmly, known personally, and supported faithfully. Across generations and backgrounds, we choose kindness, patience and grace. In times of joy and in seasons of difficulty, we walk together as God’s family.

“You are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household.” – Ephesians 2:19

  • God has been generous to us, and we want that generosity to overflow into our town and beyond.

We give our time, our gifts, our homes and our resources willingly. We pray for our community, serve where there is need, and share the hope of Jesus both in word as well as in ways that are practical and real. We believe even small acts can carry eternal significance.

“Freely you have received; freely give.” – Matthew 10:8

  • We believe everyone has a part to play in God’s story.

We invest intentionally in children and young people, nurture emerging leaders, and create space for people to step into their calling. We celebrate growth, take joy in seeing others flourish, and trust God to use each of us in ways that bless the wider world.

“From Him the whole body… grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.” – Ephesians 4:16

HOW CAN I JOIN IN?

PRAY

Dear God, we pray that in the coming decade we might see many people, whether they know Jesus yet or not, filled with His presence, formed as disciples, and sent with His love.
In Jesus name.
Amen!

COMMIT

This is only possible as we each play our part in living out the vision and values of our church, in the way we see God calling us to. That might be trying our church out, coming regularly, joining a small group, serving on a team, stepping into leadership.

Read and pray through the vision and ask: what does this look like for me?

GIVE

If you call St Francis your church, we invite you to prayerfully consider how He is calling you to be part of our vision financially. Whether by starting or increasing your giving.
